Samantha Hanratty is Indexbitabout to be busy as a bee.
After all, the Yellowjackets star recently shared she and her husband Christian DeAnda are getting ready to welcome their first baby together.
“Still in shock and its been 4 months!” Samantha captioned an August 12 Instagram post confirming the news. “I will be sharing more from my journey because it has been a wild one! Come follow this new adventure.”
For the post itself, the 28-year-old shared an intimate video showing herself taking pregnancy tests, the first of which was negative.
“I’m being me,” Samantha joked in the video, showing a shopping bag with multiple pregnancy tests. “This is silly, I should not even be doing this.”
However, she was later overcome with emotions after not getting the result she wanted. “It was negative,” she said through tears. “I said I wasn’t gonna get my hopes up.”
But as she noted, she was told she “could still be pregnant and should try again next week.”
So the Shameless alum did indeed try again—this time with a different result.
As seen in the video, Samantha raises her eyebrows in shock before saying, through smiles and laughs, “No, no way,” over and over again as she takes in her positive result.”
But as she wrote over a final clip of an ultrasound of her future little one, “Yes way.”
The exciting news comes just under ten months since she and Christian tied the knot in a November ceremony, having gotten engaged in 2021.
In conversation with The Knot about her special day, Samantha said her favorite part was, “the moment I turned the corner to walk down the aisle and our eyes met. It's not something you can really describe—it's something that's felt, and I think everyone there felt it too."
And the Greening of Whitney Brown star is still feeling that, especially on a significant day earlier this year.
“First Valentine’s Day as a wife,” Samantha captioned an Instagram post featuring photos from their wedding. “This was literally the best day of my life! The love that surrounded @ccdeanda and I was a gift like no other! Happy Valentine’s Day loves.”
