Levon Hawke says Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum never blinked twice about working together.
The actor—who is the son of Ethan Hawke and ex Uma Thurman—shared that he didn't expect working with the couple on the set of their Blink Twice movie to be so "deeply inspiring."
"I kind of couldn't have imagined working with a significant other and having it go as well as it did," Levon exclusively told E! News' Will Marfuggi at the Los Angeles premiere of Blink Twice on Aug. 8. "And they were on the same page the entire time."
The 22-year-old—who plays Lucas in the upcoming film—explained that the pair's collaboration during the shoot was seamless despite both wearing a lot of hats, with Zoë directing and co-writing the project and Channing playing the lead role of Slater King and serving as producer.
"Every second after every take, they'd meet up after and have a little head-to-head about how it was going," Levon recalled. "And they're on the same page constantly and when they weren't, it was only ever to build the story."
Recounting that Zoë and Channing—who confirmed their engagement in October 2023—both "listened to each other and learned and grew together" throughout the process, he gushed, "It felt both special just to be there working on it and also, just to see people so in love, working so hard together."
"I didn't really think it could be done," Levon continued, "and I was so happy it could."
Zoë and Channing's professionalism on set wasn't the only impressive part of filming Blink Twice, which hits theaters Aug. 23 and also stars Naomi Ackie, Haley Joel Osment, Alia Shawkat and Simon Rex. Levon was also in awe of Zoë's talent as a first-time director. As he explained it, "Zoë is not your average first-time director at all."
Levon added, "Zoë knows exactly what she's doing."

In a June 2021 interview with Deadline, Channing Tatum shared how honored he was that Zoë Kravitz thought to include him in her directorial debut, Pussy Island.
Amid rumblings of a romance, Tatum and Kravitz appeared to confirm their relationship status in Aug. 2021 with a sweet bike ride around New York City. "There's more than a friendship going on with Channing and Zoe," a source told E! News at the time. "They are spending a lot of time together and having fun. They are more than just close friends or co-stars. Their relationship has grown into more."
Though they initially posed separately on the 2021 Met Gala red carpet, the duo was photographed exiting the star-studded event together. Tatum even shared a photo with Kravitz on his Instagram Story from the after-party.
For their first Halloween together, the pair dressed up as Robert De Niro and Jodie Foster's characters from the film Taxi Driver.
During a chat with GQ, published in Nov. 2022, Kravitz said of Tatum, "He's just a wonderful human. He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other."
After over two years of dating, multiple outlets confirmed that Kravitz and Tatum are engaged to be married.
