And the award goes to… all our faves showing out on the red carpet.
With the 2024 Emmys quickly approaching, it’s only a matter of time before fans get to see some of the biggest wins of the night—including when it comes to fashion.
So, while Hollywood gears up for the ceremony hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Sept. 15, why not relive some of the most award-worthy red carpet looks ever at the Emmys?
In 2022, our favorite school teacher, Quinta Brunson, stole the show when she became a first-time Emmy winner in a show-stopping Dolce & Gabbana metallic bronze dress. That same year, The Great’s Elle Fanning channeled old Hollywood glamour in a dress made by the show’s costume designer, Sharon Long.
And Elle isn’t the only star who has stunned in a vintage-inspired look.
Zendaya made history at the 2020 Emmys by becoming the youngest recipient of the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama award for her performance in Euphoria—and she did it in style. Wearing a stunning Armani gown inspired by the Swinging Sixties, the actress proved both her performance and fashion were deserving of a prize.
Of course, the Dune star has turned heads at the ceremony before. Back in 2019, Zendaya tapped into her superhero bag and channeled Poison Ivy on the red carpet, showing off a scarlet-colored hairstyle as she walked the carpet in an emerald green dress made by Vera Wang.
And Vera Wang has also been behind other stars’ breathtaking looks. At the 2016 Emmys, the designer helped Taraji P. Henson make her mark in a gorgeous custom yellow dress. Plus, two years later, the fashion creator played Fairy Godmother for Issa Rae by putting together her modern-day Cinderella look at the 2018 ceremony.
From Reese Witherspoon’s dazzling blue-and-black sequin Armani gown in 2022 to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ daring little black dress in 1995, the stars have always shown up and showed out on the Emmys red carpet—and surely this year won’t be an exception.
